Graceful Seaside Living

Woven rattan area rugs, moss-fringe throw pillows, and a scattering of seashells adds to the light and open design of this home. Glass and mirrored elements form focal points and don’t clutter the room visually.
Vertical stripes in different widths and patterns tie the walls and furniture elements together without monotony, and the peaceful seaglass tones reinforce the feeling being inside a seaside manse. The wide-stripe wallpaper makes a beautiful, noncompetitive backdrop for framed prints and found objects.
The woven seagrass rug always looks great and is durable enough for child and pet traffic. The grand mirrored mantelpiece top was made from individual sections of custom-cut plain mirror which were puzzled together and secured with caulking. The mirror visually almost doubles the room and reflects a great deal of ambient light so the room is sunny even in the winter months.
The antique brass chandelier gains some additional character and a bit more visual weight thanks to the pleated cloth shades topping each arm.
